Staff Analysis of the Legislation

This legislation requires the district attorney to notify the Attorney General whenever a law enforcement officer whose duties are in the same circuit as the district attorney has been accused of committing a felony or an act of family violence.  The Attorney General can then appoint another district attorney, a solicitor,  a retired prosecutor, a member of the Attorney General's staff or another attorney to prosecute the case.
